Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager will ensure day-to-day warehouse and receiving operations are running efficiently, staffed properly, and always working towards process continuous improvement.  You will work closely with the Production Manager on all Production needs, changes, and potential delays, along with coordinating with the Materials group and freight companies for incoming product receipts.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Always looking out for the safety of the team
  2. Ensure every employee in the Warehouse and Receiving area knows their daily goals and are trained to a satisfactory level for each task assigned
  3. Coordinate inventory receiving timing with various carriers including the use of ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) where applicable
  4. Maintain overall inventory layout within the warehouse, including regular inventory re-slotting based off seasonality, NPI (New Product Introduction) and product trends
  5. Work with the Production Engineering team to implement best practices for processes, tools and software to drive quality output up and labor costs down
  6. Coordinate with the Inventory Control team to administer our inventory cycle count program, regularly track deliverables to drive action plans for improvements
  7. Assist in planning and executing physical inventory audits as necessary
  8. Ensure the timely execution of subassembly work/work orders in support of production requirements
  9. Regularly communicate with the Production Manager on all pertinent inbound component deliveries, including timely communication of known inbound delays
  10. Participate in the Lean Manufacturing process to ensure continuous improvement
  11. Perform Weekly, Monthly, and Annual reviews with Warehouse team members and work with them to achieve their deliverables and career goals
  12. Attend daily Production Manager meetings
  13. Participate in the hiring process for all new Warehouse team members

Competencies & Requirements:

  1. 2-5+ years of experience with inventory management in the manufacturing industry
  2. Demonstrated experience leading and managing people
  3. Verified knowledge of working inventory management in a dynamic manner
  4. Experience with SAP (ERP software), implementation experience is preferred
  5. Good computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  6. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  7. Accomplished critical thinker
  8. Extremely detail-oriented in task management and administration

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

 

Education and/or Experience:  2-5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry; Experience with inventory management; Experience managing people.
