Project Manager

Santa Cruz Bicycles is seeking an experienced professional who can support the Digital Marketing, Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams in bringing new products to market. The successful candidate for this position will maintain detailed schedules, track project deliverables, and identify and escalate risks and issues.  We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent problem solving, communication, and data organization skills.

 

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Coordinate with various departments throughout the project life cycle to ensure project deadlines are met
  2. Consistently update project schedules, deliverable tracking, and weekly reporting
  3. Consolidate data from various communications (emails, Slack, meetings) into central project tracking documents to provide easy access and visibility to stakeholders
  4. Assist in tracking marketing and software engineering milestones such as engineering release ETAs and creative/content approvals
  5. Escalate risks to Project Management team and help facilitate solutions for identified issues
  6. Help to schedule and prepare for project meetings, attend and take comprehensive notes, share notes promptly, and track and follow up action items from meetings
  7. Provide administrative support as requested
  8. Complete project tasks as requested

Competencies and Requirements:

  1. 2+ years of experience working on complex projects in a fast-paced environment using problem-solving skills and clear communication
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred but not required
  3. Expert computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets) and project management tools such as Gantt charts
  4. Ability to create, manipulate and analyze data
  5. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict management skills
  6. Work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  7. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal, written and listening
  8. Exceptional organizational skills
  9. Proficiency in project management software (Smartsheets, Basecamp, MS Project)
  10. Proficiency with ERP software (SAP) preferred but not required
  11. Advanced bike knowledge is preferred, especially the Santa Cruz and Juliana product lines
  12. Valid and current certification in project management and/or eagerness to pursue continuing education in Project Management, such as a CAPM and/or UC certification

 

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

Education and/or Experience:  2+ years of experience in a rapidly evolving environment working on complex projects using problem-solving skills; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
